Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following war: Post-World War I (WWI). Contains photographs of the following military unit: Panama Canal Zone Command. General description of the collection: The Charles H. Martin photograph collection consists of photos throughout Martin's military career from 2nd lieutenant to major general in 1927. Martin was a West Point graduate, Class of 1887. He commanded the 86th Division during WWI. Most of the photos in this collection are of his command of the Panama Canal Zone (1924-1927). One nice photo is of Martin as a 2nd lieutenant, circa 1892. There is one photo of a review of the 86th Division in 1918. There are numerous photos of a visit of the Duke and Duchess of York to the Canal Zone in 1927 and of their ship, the Her Majesty's Ship (HMS) Renown.
